How to Remove the MLD Software

Each component of the Multi-Language Dictionary that you downloaded had a Setup program that installed the component in the appropriate sub-directory, all of which are located under a common root directory, which defaults to "C:\Program Files\Multi-Language Dictionary". Each Setup program creates an entry in the Add/Remove Programs list in the Control Panel.

There are two ways to delete the MLD files.

You can manually delete each program or you can download and run the automatic uninstall program. The latter is recommended.

Automatic uninstall:

Download this file to a temporary directory and run it:

UninstallMLD.exe (70KB)

When you press the GO button, this program will display all programs in the Registry and put check marks next to the MLD modules. You can deselect some if you wish, but normally you would leave all MLD modules selected. Then press the UNINSTALL button. The program will run the Uninstall program for each selected MLD program.

Leave the Quiet Mode option checked, unless you want to answer a whole bunch of questions for each and every module to be uninstalled.

When all have been deleted, it will then delete the directories and files (assuming that option is checked).

The GO button changes to "Refresh" after it is pressed; when everything has been deleted, you can press Refresh to see the list of programs in the Registry (and in the Add/Remove Programs list in the Control Panel).

This program has been tested on Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Manual uninstall:

1. In the Control Panel, under Add/Remove Progams, locate each MLD component in the list, highlight it, and then click the Add/Remove button. This will run the Setup program again, which will confirm that you really want to remove that component, and then remove it. Do this for each of the MLD components.

2. Using Windows Explorer, find the common root directory for the Thai software (default "C:\Program Files\Multi-Language Dictionary") and delete it.

There are no other Registry entries to delete, as they are deleted when each module is uninstalled. The Visual Basic run-time files are not uninstalled because they are likely to be used by lots of other software.

That's it, it's all gone. Thanks for trying it.
